An acupuncture clinic in the basement of a three-story building in northwest Delhi’s Pitampura region caught fire this morning, and five ladies were saved, according to fire officials.
Around 11 a.m., the Delhi fire department received word of a fire and dispatched seven fire tenders to the scene.
Smoke rising from the clinic enveloped the building’s other stories. A woman was saved from the basement clinic, while four people were evacuated from the second floor house, according to Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg, who added that no one was harmed in the incident. Swati (27), the lady rescued from the clinic, has been identified. Laxmi Kansal, 52, and her two children Pridhi Kansal (25) and Malika Kansal (23), as well as their relative Asha Rani, were saved from the second floor, according to fire officials.
